Grazing Industry Reef Rescue Projects
Graziers have jumped on board with Reef Rescue wholeheartedly, keen to make a difference to the environment through improved land management practices. In the first two years of Reef Rescue, grazing land managers have received over $650 000 in Reef Rescue incentives to undertake improvements in the way they manage their land.
Projects undertaken include the construction of riparian fencing and the installation of watering points. Reef Rescue has also provided incentives to graziers to plant native vegetation along stream margins to stabilise the banks and reduce sedimentation of local waterways and ultimately the Great Barrier Reef Lagoon.
To find out more on how graziers have implemented Reef Rescue read some of the Case Studies found on this website.
