Management Committee

The Reef Catchments Management Committee consists of members from business and community backgrounds.  Each member has a strong commitment to the sustainable management of our regions natural resources.

Royce Bishop

Chairman: Royce Bishop

Royce and his wife Judith live on an eight hectare peri urban farm block at Swayneville in the upper Plane Creek valley.  Royce is a retired sugar mill engineer.  He has been a member of Landcare for over 20 years and has a strong interest in maintaining a sustainable environment and profitable productive agriculture.

 

 

Frank Perna

Deputy Chair: Frank Perna

Frank lives with his wife Susan and four children in Kuttabul.  He works on the family farm with his father.  He is on the board of Canegrowers.  Frank is also heavily involved with his community and coaches junior soccer, he is a member of a Parents and Citizens School Committee and is active in the Rural Fire Brigade.

 

 

 

Judith Wake

Member: Judith Wake

Judith lectures in biological and environmental sciences at the CQ University Mackay campus and is responsible for the undergraduate and postgraduate environmental sciences courses across all campuses. She has an honors degree in marine biology at James Cook University and a PhD in zoology from University of Western Australia.  For many years, Judith also ran tourism and primary production businesses in Eungella with her late partner John. She has two children.

 

 Jennifer Whitney

Member: Councillor Jennifer Whitney

Jenny and her husband Shane have owned and operated an agriculture business in Proserpine since 1987.  She has been involved with local government since 1984 and is currently in her 3rd term as Councillor for the Whitsunday Regional Council. Jenny’s interests are in Landcare, biodiversity, the River Improvement Trust, waste management and various sporting groups within the Whitsunday region.
